Before my son headed off to his basketball game the other day, I encouraged him to be a bit more aggressive and take the ball up the court and make plays versus handing it off as soon as he had possession. I know he has the capability of taking and making baskets (which is what I think he should be doing…silly me).
He said, “Mom, my position is power forward, I get rebounds – I’m right where I’m supposed to be.”
I realized I was wanting something different for my son than what he was intended for.
Can you relate? I want him to make 3’s but his strength is rebounding.
It’s not always about making the score, is it?
